  as many of you know my brother an elder was called on to sit in a "judicial committee" re-instatement.. the brother has in the past done all he can to prove he is repentant but this time the co was here and apparently had a few things to say to the cobe when they were discussing the process.

  the co asked why the poor guy had four re-instatement hearings and why the co had received a letter from him detailing that he "did not think he could do anymore".. anyway, long story short, the co sat in the hearing and hey presto the brother was re-instated.

  my brother and the co spoke with the brother and the co said that he had done well and was sorry that the process has taken so long and shook his hand.. now he mentioned the latest letter about confidentiality and said that the society is being hit left right and center with civil lawsuits and are scared as the have no way of defending them.

  Can the Watchtower Society survive without time reports?

  there has already been much discussion about how the watchtower society has declared in australia that going door to door is part of a personal ministry.

  this seems to be a lame attempt to avoid liability considering that they require time reports and have formal meetings for field service at the kingdom hall.. this is a bit of a dilemma.

  reporting time and formal meetings for field service are important methods of control, however it's not clear if the organization is willing or able to handle the potential liability that may come from this.. imagine what would happen if they lost these methods of control.

  I think the same could be said for those turn off the "spiritual" portion of the brain to rely exclusively on logic and rational.

  i was thinking this as i was reading through a foreign language wt yesterday afternoon.

  the wt needs so many translators to translate their crap into 200 or whatever languages.

  can you imagine the mental gymnastics these people need to do in order to translate stuff like the "generation" teaching into another language?

  I thought the claim was that it would free up translators so that they could produce their little rags in more languages.

  Indeed the calim was, Black Sheep.

  However, can someone break this down for me, please!

  Say, I am a translator who speaks English and Language "X". If I were afforded more time (due to laighter translating load), how in the world would I be able to also translate to Languge "Y"? In addition to time, I might also need to be fluent in Language "Y".

  WT makes it look like "translator" is some kind of commoditized service and they can "translate" whatever you throw at them, as long as they have time..

  my dad recently found out i wasn't coming to meetings and going out in field service.

  he found an excuse to get me alone in his car and just lit into me about it.

  he said that if i'm not going out in service that i'm not one of jehovah's witnesses and the brothers won't be able to trust me when the time comes to go undercover due to being attacked by the authorities.

  No wonder the douche in the suit doesn't have even ONE girl intersted in him.....He seems like such an idiot.

  Even in the first set of illustrations, when he is sitting down sipping on a soda, seems like he is offering it to the girl on the left of him, while she ALREADY has a dringk in her hand.

  Not to mention that a dude sipping through a straw is kinda gay (nothing wrong with gay, people, just not what you'd expect from an exemplary JW)
